The devil - in the shape of Didi Sneft - makes an appearance at the 10th stage of the Tour of Spain outside Zaragoza yesterday. The German, known as `El Diablo' for the rather obvious reason, is a regular follower of the Tour de France, the Giro and the Tour of Spain. The stage was won by the Ukrainian Sergei Outschakov, six years after his last victory in the event. Outschakov and Italy's Fabio Rosciolli broke clear from a group of five riders nine kilometres from the finish. After working together to ensure they would be first and second across the line, the pair battled for the stage honours in the final 200 metres which the TVM rider won. Spain's Abraham Olana, of the ONCE team, retained the race leader's golden jersey for the sixth successive day.
