Jones, who finished with 6 for 25 off 20 overs, took the first five wickets as Glamorgan, chasing 213 for victory, crashed to 69 for 7. An eighth-wicket partnership of 91 between former Durham batsman Nicky Peng and captain Robert Croft gave Glamorgan hope until Ian Hunter trapped Peng lbw for 56 and, despite Croft's defiant 41 not out, Hunter cleaned up the tail to bowl Glamorgan out for 184. It was Derbyshire's first victory this season but Glamorgan's campaign has got off to a dreadful start.
In Division One, Matthew Prior added an unbeaten half-century to his first-innings hundred as Sussex completed a five-wicket victory over Yorkshire at Headingley. Sussex needed 54 more runs on the final morning, and thanks to Prior (55 not out) they managed to get home in just under an hour's play.
Nottinghamshire's David Alleyne struck his first career century but could not stop Warwickshire completing a 60-run victory to go one point behind early leaders Lancashire.
Warwickshire needed only five more wickets at Trent Bridge yesterday, and seamer James Anyon took 4 for 48 as play finished 40 minutes after lunch. Notts' 30-year-old reserve wicketkeeper Alleyne (109no) was playing only because of Chris Read's call-up to the England A team to face Sri Lanka but responded by top-scoring in both innings and claiming nine dismissals in the match.
