Hussey: Australia are over India defeat

Mike Hussey is adamant that Australia are over the disappointment of their one-wicket defeat to India in Mohali in the first Test on Tuesday.

The tourists fell just short when a 81-run stand between VVS Laxman and Ishant Sharma for the ninth wicket helped India to snatch a thrilling success. There is, however, little time for the tourists to lick their wounds with the second and final Test getting under way in Bangalore today.

Despite that Hussey believes his team-mates are raring to go for the challenge of levelling the series. "The mood was pretty buoyant at training; the boys are in good spirits. Some of the guys, particularly the fast bowlers, are trying to recover as best as they can because it was a gruelling Test match," Hussey said. "After a tough match in Mohali, the focus is on recovery but we have to keep our skills in good shape as well."

Hussey confirmed that paceman Doug Bollinger remains a doubt for the Test, after having scans on his sore abdominal muscles: "It is just a minor strain; we hope he is going to be OK."

Bollinger's potential replacements, James Pattinson and Mitchell Starc, both uncapped, pushed their claims during yesterday's training session. "I had not faced them before and I'm very impressed; Pattinson reminds me of [Peter] Siddle," Hussey said.

For India, Laxman is struggling with a back injury, while Gautam Gambhir and Sharma have been ruled out.
