Glamorgan fight back with Wharf and Thomas
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Glamorgan's hopes of catching Nottinghamshire at the top of the County Championship's Second Division suffered a setback against bottom-placed Durham in Cardiff yesterday.
Marcus North's career-best 219 had brought Durham their highest score of the season, 466. Then the Welsh county were reduced to 150 for 7 before an eighth-wicket stand allowed them to close on 258 for 7, still 59 runs short of avoiding the follow-on. Alex Wharf remained unbeaten on 53 while Darren Thomas made 52 not out.
Yorkshire are jostling with Hampshire for third place at the Rose Bowl and they were dismissed for 395 yesterday, missing out on the fifth bonus point.
The former England left-arm paceman Alan Mullally earned 6 for 68 while the Australian Phil Jaques recorded his highest score, 243. Hampshire had limped to 202 for 6 by the close.
