Your support makes all the difference.For the second time in the match, the steady hand of all-rounder Paul Franks and the unbridled aggression of Andre Adams dragged Nottinghamshire out of trouble against Lancashire to set up an intriguing last day at Trent Bridge.
Nottinghamshire were only 61 in front when they slumped to 81 for 7 in their second innings but Franks and Adams put on 119 in 19 overs. Adams added three sixes to the five he had scored in the first innings in scoring 52 off 51 balls.
At the height of his onslaught, Lancashire's Sri Lankan all-rounder, Farveez Maharoof, conceded 22 runs in an over. Adams eventually became a fifth victim for Sajid Mahmood, who finished with match figures of 10 for 186.
It left Lancashire needing 237 to win on a deteriorating pitch, although Nottinghamshire's Samit Patel, their regular spinner, has had to leave the match to join England's one-day squad.
Moeen Ali hit 136 off only 90 balls with three sixes and 16 fours but Sri Lanka won by 57 runs in their 50-over match against Worcestershire at New Road after an aggressive fifth-wicket stand of 163 between Angelo Mathews (81) and Jeevan Mendis (99 not out).
Earlier, Sanath Jayasuriya had marked his return to cricket with 78 off 60 balls as Sri Lanka finished with 351 for 5.
India, who will provide England's second opponents of the international summer, moved into a strong position in the first match of their three-Test series against West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica.
Having dismissed the hosts for 173, they built on their 73-run first-innings lead around a half-century from Rahul Dravid, who made Darren Sammy pay for dropping him at second slip off Ravi Rampaul when he had scored only six, by posting an otherwise chanceless half-century.
At lunch on day three, their lead stood at 239 with four wickets left.
