Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Stuart Broad is expected to be fit to take part in England's third one-day international against South Africa at Newlands.
Broad was not available for either of the first two matches against the Proteas - the first was washed out at the Wanderers before England went 1-0 up in the five-match series at Centurion last weekend.
The Nottinghamshire seamer was this morning taking a full part in England's middle practice in Cape Town, and a team spokesman confirmed he is available for selection on Friday.
With his fellow fast bowler James Anderson also able to bowl despite his knee niggles, Graeme Swann and Alastair Cook are the only two players still on the sidelines with respective side and back problems.
Even Swann was able to join in today's practice, although it is thought he may need a little longer before he is fully fit.
Broad, meanwhile, confirmed: "I feel good. It's been a tricky couple of weeks getting my shoulder right but I feel back to full fitness and excited if selected for Friday."
