Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Australia have recalled veteran Cameron White for the one-day series against England, snubbing Glenn Maxwell.
Maxwell was dropped from the original squad in favour of Chris Lynn in what was seen as a shot across the bows, followed by a rebuke over his training methods from captain Steve Smith.
Lynn's calf injury raised hopes of an immediate reprieve but the selection panel have instead returned to the 34-year-old White, who last played for his country three years ago - against England in Hobart.
He has been rewarded for some eye-catching form in the Big Bash, averaging 142.5 for Melbourne Renegades.
National selector Trevor Hohns said: "Cameron's in very good form, as his figures demonstrate. He's playing very well.
"He's one of the leading run-scorers in this season's KFC BBL, he's experienced, he's a very smart cricketer and he's a good fielder. He ticks all the boxes for what we need at this stage."
