From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The option of using Alec Stewart as a wicketkeeper and dropping Jack Russell has also been ruled out, sources close to the team said, leaving the quick bowler Caddick for Tufnell as the only likely change to the side beaten by 230 runs in the fourth Test in Guyana. West Indies lead the series 2-1 with two Tests left.
Caddick played in the first three Tests, taking seven wickets, but was left out of the fourth Test so England could play two spinners. Tufnell has taken only five wickets in four Tests, while Robert Croft took six wickets with his off-spin after coming into the side in Guyana.
West Indies have dropped their openers, Stuart Williams and Sherwin Campbell, and brought in Philo Wallace, the Barbados captain, and the veteran Clayton Lambert. They are also expected to replace Jimmy Adams with Roland Holder.
