British middleweight champion Scott Fitzgerald has been charged with three counts of common assault and one charge of witness intimidation.

Fitzgerald, 28, was arrested on Monday after allegedly assaulting two women, aged 21 and 42, and a 23-year-old man.

The 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medallist, who is unbeaten in 14 professional fights, has had his licence suspended by the British Boxing Board of Control.

His case is scheduled to go before Crown Court in May.
