From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Mike Tyson fights Roy Jones Jr with both legends of the sport still eager to prove their worth.

Iron Mike has jumped back into the gym and appears as tenacious as ever, while Jones Jr has put his career as a trainer on hold to take on the daunting task of sharing a ring with the former heavyweight champion of the world.

“It's because I can do it,” Tyson said when pushed on why he is entering the ring again. "And I believe other people believe they can do it too.

"Just because we are 54, it doesn't mean that we have to start a new career and our lives are totally over. Not when you feel as beautiful as I do, and I'm sure that other people feel the same way.

"I never took that many punches. After the last fight I had, I left and I lived my life, and I've been through some experiences, and now I'm back here. I feel like I took better care of my body and my state of mind than most of the fighters before me that retired and came back."

While Jones Jr insists the fans have always wanted to see him take on Tyson having made his way up to heavyweight even in the professional ranks.

He said: "I've been trying to enjoy retirement, but people don't seem to want to let me retire. They keep calling me, telling me that Mike wants to come back, and that you'd be a great opponent for Mike. We always wanted to see it, but I would've preferred it back then. Tyson is a hell of a specimen still. Still a problem to deal with. But at the same time, life is life, you only live once. You want to know what it's like, you go in there and see. You still gotta see it."

BT Sport Box Office will show Tyson v Jones Jr. exclusively live in the UK on Saturday 28th November
