Paul, who has fought twice professionally and knocked out former NBA player Nate Robinson last month, is hoping to goad the Irish UFC star into a lucrative contest.
Paul also criticised UFC President Dana White, who has publicly dismissed the idea of McGregor fighting the 23-year-old. “[McGregor] is one of the greatest fighters on Earth right now,” White told TMZ Sports. "He shouldn't be fighting kids that have f****** YouTube videos."

In a profane rant, Paul said: “My team sent you a $50 million offer this morning – $50 million cash, proof of funds – the biggest offer you’ve ever been offered. But you’re still scared to fight me, Conor. You’re ducking me ‘cause you don’t want to lose to a YouTuber. You’re 0-1 as a boxer. I’m 2-0 as a boxer. I just came off the eighth biggest pay-per-view event in history, but you want to fight Dustin ‘Prober’ who has less followers on Instagram than my dog – that’s a fact.”
McGregor is currently scheduled to return to the Octagon when he faces Dustin Poirier on 23 January, and his former opponent, Nate Diaz, was one of many to criticise Paul’s provocative call-out.
However, promoter Eddie Hearn claimed that a fight between Paul and McGregor would be “more competitive” than the former UFC champion’s match-up against Floyd Mayweather.
“I think it’s reasonably competitive, especially with the weight difference,” Hearn told Sirius XM Boxing.
