What prediction have been made?
Floyd Mayweather: “Do I think Triple G can beat Canelo? Absolutely not. I think there’s a few guys that can beat Triple G, and Canelo is on the top of the list.
“I believe that he’ll beat him. I really believe Triple G has good punching power as a fighter. He’s got good punching power, but he’s flat-footed. He makes a lot of mistakes, but boxing is different now.
“I don’t think it’ll go the distance. Canelo Alvarez is one of the best fighters in boxing.”
Amir Khan: “I honestly think he beats Triple G. A lot of people underestimate him, I don't know why.
“I've been in the ring with Canelo. I've never been in the ring with Triple G, but I've been in the ring with Canelo and he's hard to hit.
“He's quite tricky and like I said he hits very hard, so you have to give him that respect. I think that he gives a lot of people problems.”
Tony Bellew: “Golovkin’s strength is that he is very strong, will not be denied and walks forward with a kind of terminator approach to the ring,” Bellew told betsafe.com. Technically very good too and people underestimate that. He is a man who has had an extensive amateur career and boxed from Kazakhstan all around the world.
“But Canelo is the best active counter puncher in the world today, now Floyd Mayweather has retired. He is defensively good, powerful and works on the inside.
“Canelo’s defence is better than GGG. He has the movement and flexibility in the way he slips and slides on defence. GGG is more uptight, he’s easier to hit and will give one to take one. Canelo will try to slip and counter.”
