From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Anthony Joshua thinks that Wladimir Klitschko hit him harder than Andy Ruiz Jr, despite losing his heavyweight titles to Ruiz in June.
Ruiz and Klitschko are the only two fighters to have so far knocked down Joshua in his 23-fight career.
And the British heavyweight believes it was Ukranian who hit him hardest.
"Who's hit me the hardest? Yeah, Klitschko," Joshua told the Pound for Pound podcast.
"'I was gonna say Ruiz, but when he hit me that was like a concussion on the back of my head."
Joshua and Ruiz's rematch is scheduled for 7 December in Saudi Arabia.
Ruiz's surprise victory was Joshua's first professional defeat, having survived a gruelling fight with Klitschko in 2017.
Their battle went to the 11th round, with Joshua knocked down in round six, and he understood the stakes.
"When I went in with Klitschko, yeah, I just knew this could go two ways.
"I could either win or I'm going to be laid out on my back. You know when you get carried out on a stretcher?"
