From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Moorer, 26, will be making the first defence of the World Boxing Association and International Boxing Federation titles he won last April with a majority decision over Evander Holyfield. Foreman will be attempting to win the title 21 years after he took it from Joe Frazier.
Foreman, who said he is fighting for the least money he has received in several years, would not reveal his share of the purse. Moorer's cut was not made public either.
However, Foreman, 45, was adamant on the bout. 'If Michael Moorer runs from me, I'm gonna chase him and knock him out. I'm not going to go for a decision. I do believe that this guy depends on power. He's not the polished boxer he would want to be,' he said. After winning the title from Frazier in 1973, Foreman lost it in 1974 to Muhammad Ali.
