Richard Corsie, three times a former winner, set a world record on his way to the second round of the World Indoor Championship in Preston yesterday. Corsie needed just 10 ends and 49 minutes to beat the England international Russell Morgan, taking 13 minutes and two ends off the previous record. John Price, the winner in 1990 and a beaten finalist three years ago, had a four-set win over Irvine's Paul Foster. The former UK champion Stephen Rees from Swansea also came through easily, with a 3-1 win over New Zealand's Andrew Curtain. In the only other match yesterday, Australia's Cameron Curtis beat England's Paul Bennett in straight sets.
