City are 5-2 favourites with BetVictor to be crowned champions, while neighbours United can be backed at 3-1. A City-United 1-2 is available at 9-1.
Pep Guardiola’s side were as short as 7-4 but punters seem to have dismissed their chances ahead of the start of the new Premier League season, despite their new boss spending £120m during the summer to transform them into title contenders.
Leicester were 5,000-1 underdogs at the start of last season before going on to claim a maiden title success. They were helped in their quest by not having to play any European football. Chelsea will be in a similar position this season and they are BetVictor’s 11-2 third favourites to be champions.
Arsenal are 6-1 and Tottenham trade at 8s along with Liverpool, another team who will not have the distraction of European football. The Gunners are 4-7 with to finish above Spurs for a 22nd consecutive season.
Hull are 4-6 favourites to be relegated. The betting market suggests they will be joined by fellow promoted sides Burnley (10-11) and Middlesbrough (7-4).
Harry Kane failed to fire at the Euros but he is the 5-1 second favourite to be the Premier League’s top scorer. Sergio Aguero, at 10-3, heads the betting, with United new-boy Zlatan Ibrahimovic priced at 9-1. You can get 8-1 on Aguero topping the scoring charts and City winning the title.
The favourite to be the first Premier League manager to leave his post is Swansea’s Francesco Guidolin, who is 9-2 with BetVictor. Many Arsenal fans rounded on Arsene Wenger last season but the Frenchman, at 40s, would appear to have the safest managerial seat in the top flight.
