Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

WITH THE Budweiser League season just three games old, the Greater London Leopards coach, Billy Mims, last night axed Bryan Williams ahead of tomorrow's meeting with last season's runners-up, Birmingham Bullets.

The champions' dismal start reached crisis level with the midweek 90- 84 home defeat against the unbeaten leaders, Derby Storm. "I can't get any new players in time for the game at Birmingham, but the team have not been performing up to expectation and I had to make changes," Mims said.

Leopards won their opening fixture at Newcastle Eagles, but last weekend's defeat at Sheffield Sharks was followed by the dismal showing against Derby.

"I've got to find another 20 points from somewhere and we have to consider whether we have the right mix of players," Mims said. "Something has got to be fixed and, with a club like this, it has to be fixed quickly."
