Your support makes all the difference.Steve Cram, the British world mile record-holder, runs in the men's invitation 5,000 metres in the Bupa International Festival of Running in Aberdeen tomorrow. On a fast, mainly flat course in Duthie Park, the Jarrow runner will take on the Olympic 10,000m champion from Morocco, Khalid Skah. The men's mile race features three top 800m performers. Curtis Robb, Dave Sharpe, the World Cup victor at 800m, and the world junior champion from Kenya, Benson Koech, will compete in a line-up which includes the Basildon runner, Rob Denmark. In the women's 5,000m race, Liz McColgan and Yvonne Murray from Scotland will be up against Catherina McKiernan, the cross-country specialist from Ireland.
How to get there: Bupa International Festival of Running, Duthie Park, Aberdeen. Admission: free. Duthie Park is just north of King George VI bridge over the River Dee. First race (of 11) 11.40pm; men's invitation 5,000m 12.35; men's international mile 1.05; women's invitation 5,000m 1.35. Parking is restricted at Duthie Park; a park-and-ride bus service will operate.
