Kenya's world record holders Noureddine Morceli and Daniel Komen confirmed yesterday they will take part in Monday's Solidarity Meeting for Sarajevo , the first major sports event to take place in the city since the war ended in Bosnia-Herzogovina.

Both Liz McColgan and Yvonne Murray will run in the BUPA Great North Run in Newcastle on Sunday, 15 September. The half marathon classic this year has attracted more than 32,000 entrants.
