From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

RANDY MOSS terrorised Green Bay's defense for 190 yards and two touchdowns as the Minnesota Vikings halted the Packer's 25-game home winning streak with a convincing 37-24 victory.

It was a breakthrough game for the 21-year-old rookie, who caught five passes and leads the league with six receiving touchdowns and 463 yards.

Unaffected by a game-long downpour, Randall Cunningham threw for four touchdowns - three in the second quarter - and the Vikings' defense stifled Brett Favre in a battle of NFC Central unbeaten sides. Cunningham threw scoring strikes to Moss, Jake Reed and running back Robert Smith as the Vikings, unbeaten so far this season, (5-0) amassed 265 yards in the second quarter en route to a 24-10 half-time lead.

Cunningham completed 19 of 30 passes for 442 yards, the most ever against the Packers, who suffered their first defeat of the season. He surpassed the mark of 411 yards, set in 1990 by Joe Montana of San Francisco.

Favre's worst game in recent memory came right after one of his best. He completed just 13 of 23 passes for 114 yards and three interceptions. Eight days ago, Favre equalled his team record with five touchdowns in a convincing win over Carolina.

Against Minnesota, he pass-ed for only 26 yards in the second half before being replaced by Doug Pederson, who threw two consolation TD passes.

Cunningham, 35, has thrown for a league-leading 13 touchdowns since taking over from Brad Johnson in the season's second game.
