Alister McRae avoided the problems in the Kielder sections to win the Pirelli International Rally - the second round of the Mobil 1/Top Gear British Rally Championship. Renault, Nissan, Skoda, Peugoet and Honda lost all their factory cars in the race because of breakdowns and accidents.
