The Dons manager knows it will be a daunting task to eliminate the Danish champions, Brondby, from the Uefa Cup after the disappointment of the 2-0 defeat in the first leg at Pittodrie a fortnight ago.
However, Aberdeen have scored seven goals on their travels in the tournament this season - and Aitken relishes the chance of upsetting the odds in this one.
"This is the toughest game we have faced in the competition but a lot of people had ruled us out of the Uefa Cup before we had even played a game," Aitken said.
However, Aitken has a major problem at the back with John Inglis being ruled out after breaking down in training with a groin strain last night. Brian Irvine also faces a fitness test, while the French stopper Antoine Kombouare is in ineligible for the tie.
However, another groin strain victim, Duncan Shearer, should be fit to boost their chances of finding the three goals they need and Aitken is confident he has the fire power necessary to rescue the situation if they keep it tight at the back.
Brondby have injury worries of their own to contend with, their captain Kim Vilfort is doubtful with a knee injury while the former Arsenal midfielder, John Jensen, misses the game with a leg injury.
