A royal author has revealed what Prince Harry said to his brother as Kate Middleton walked up the aisle at her wedding to Prince William.

William and Kate married on April 29 2011, meaning they are approaching their 10-year wedding anniversary.

Royal biographer Marcia Moody revealed what Harry said to his brother on the day as Kate arrived at Westminster Abbey in her 2013 book, Kate: A Biography.

She wrote: "Harry looked back as Kate started walking down the aisle and reported back to his brother, ‘Right, she is here now.’

“The royal best man then said: "Well, she looks beautiful, I can tell you that."

She also revealed what William whispered to his wife-to-be when she saw her: “The couple set eyes on each other, and William murmured to Kate, ‘You look beautiful.’”

The wedding was attended by 1,900 guests including the Beckhams, Joss Stone and Sir Elton John, who was friends with William and Harry’s mother Princess Diana.

The wedding was also attended by Harry’s ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davey, who he split from the previous year but remained close to.

Kate’s wedding dress was designed by the creative director of Alexandra McQueen, Sarah Burton. The dress featured a train of just under three metres, which was carried by the duchess’s sister Pippa Middleton, who was a bridesmaid.

The Duchess of Cambridge spent her ninth wedding anniversary last year supporting charities working with pregnant women and new mothers.

Her last wedding anniversary fell during the first coronavirus lockdown.

According to the Court Circular – the official daily list of royal engagements – the duchess spent the afternoon taking part in a roundtable discussion with organisations supporting women in her role as patron of the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
