Coming up the week of November 30 and the following weeks: design weeks in Hong Kong, Miami, and Tokyo, the world's largest building opens some parts to the public, and architects including Norman Foster and Frank Gehry take part in a London auction.

November 30 - December 5

Hong Kong

The business side of design will be explored by the international community through conferences, exhibitions and award ceremonies including the respected HKDA Asia Design Awards at Hong Kong's Convention and Exhibition Center. This year's guest nation is France.

Miami/US

Highlights at this year's design fair, running concurrently to Art Basel Miami, include a Swarovski Crystal Palace installation by architect Greg Lynn, an entire house furnished with Droog products, and store openings such as by Italian furniture brand Cerruti Baleri.

Burj Dubai opens

Art for Architecture auction

London/UK

To benefit the built environment charity Article 25, architects such as Norman Foster and Zaha Hadid as well as artists including Tracey Emin and Christo have donated their works that will be auctioned off at London's Louise T Blouin Foundation.

American Institute of Architects Gold Medal winner announced

The institute's highest honor - and one of the country's most prestigious architecture awards together with the Pritzker Prize - will be handed out on December 4. Previous winners include Renzo Piano, Norman Foster, and Frank Gehry.
