From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Barbie and Ken as Don and Betty Draper? Mattel toys' iconic Barbie doll will launch a set of special dolls for the Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning television series, Mad Men, to be released with the next season of the show in July.

With the show set in the 1960s, like Barbie's early years, and at an advertising agency, the partnership is a marketing dream. The four collectible dolls, based on Mad Men characters, include Betty Draper Barbie, her husband Don Draper, the agency's Roger Sterling, and bombshell office manager, Joan Holloway.

Unlike the other collections, from Twilight to rocker Joan Jett, Mad Men is one of the first releases introducing the 'Barbie Fashion Model Collection,' a signature line featuring couture quality fashions. Accessories include Don's hat, overcoat and briefcase. Also, there is Betty's faux pearl necklace, Joan Holloway's pen necklace; and Roger Sterling's monogrammed shirt.

Made of a porcelain-like material called Silkstone, each doll will be sold at a suggested retail price of $74.95. The licensed line of 7,000 to 10,000 will be available in specialty stores, and online at amctv.com as well as barbiecollector.com.

The Mad Men season three DVD with 13 episodes is available on March 23 with featurettes included. No cocktails or cigarettes included.
