Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

As part of the denim brand's Crossovers project, G-Star Raw approached Swiss design house Vitra to bring back to life 17 of the French designer's classic designs.

Closely collaborating with the Prouvé family, G-Star and Vitra updated chairs, lamps, tables, a chaise longue, and more in new materials and colors while leaving the structure of the pieces largely unchanged.

"My father would have liked the new energy that this co-operation injects in his designs," the designer's daughter Catherine said. "He always wanted things to look fresh and crisp. It is great to see, how the Prouvé RAW edition gives a new feeling to the collection - keeping its integrity while making it look new again."

The Prouvé RAW collection is currently on display at the Vitra Fire Station in Weil am Rhein, Germany where it will remain through the end of the month. Between October and November, nine of the pieces, priced in between $1,210 and $7,225, will be available for purchase at major international Vitra outlets.
