Your support makes all the difference.George Harrison’s former childhood home - where The Beatles held some of the bands first rehearsals - has been auctioned for £156,000 at the Cavern Club in Liverpool.
The 25 Upton Green property in Speke, Liverpool had a guide price of £100,000 and was on the market with Entwistle Green. It was bought by a Beatles fan from London.
"There was interest in the property before the auction from potential buyers who lived in the UK and internationally. We are delighted to have sold such an iconic piece of history," said Andrew Brown, Managing Director, Countrywide Property Auctions.
George Harrison was aged six when in 1949 his parents Harold and Louise moved into this three-bedroom council house. The mid terrace home was where George lived with his parents until the early 1960s.
Last year the first home of John Lennon on Newcastle Road, Wavertree, was sold for £480,000.
