The Israeli President Ezer Weizman was taken ill during a state banquet hosted by the Indian President, Shankar Dayal Sharma, in New Delhi yesterday, and retired to his room hurriedly, witnesses said. But Israeli officials were quoted as saying that Mr Weizman, 72, had recovered well after the sudden illness.
