Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in London for talks with Prime Minister David Cameron that are expected to touch on the issue of Syria's civil war.

British politicians are divided over whether to authorize the shipment of weapons to Syria's rebels, who're fighting a crackdown by Syrian ruler Bashar Assad.

European nations have lifted an arms embargo on the country's opposition, but lawmakers from across the U.K.'s political spectrum have called for more debate before sending arms to the rebels, many of whom have become increasingly radical as the conflict has dragged on.

Putin opposes any move to arm the Syrian opposition, while pushing ahead with his own arms transfers to the Assad regime.

The Russian president was pictured arriving at Downing Street Sunday, almost an hour behind schedule.
