All creatures great and small were in churches across the world this weekend to receive blessings during the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment.
The blessings were part of the celebration of the saint who is honoured by Catholics for his love of nature. From Peru to France to Canada, animal lovers and their pets took part in the event.
