Note of triumph

Paris - British musicians who form the Emperor Quartet won the 18th international string quartet competition held in Evian, beating 13 groups from 10 countries. They won the first prize of pounds 15,800 and three special ones: for the best interpretation of a Mozart quartet, a French Culture Ministry prize for the best interpretation of a quartet by Andre Boucourechliev and a prize given by Societe Generale bank.
