Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that Israel could act to prevent the Syrian civil war from spilling into a buffer zone between the two countries.
Following Austria’s decision to withdraw its 300 soldiers from the UN peacekeeping force in the area after heavy fighting last week, Mr Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israel was “not intervening in the Syrian civil war”, but “cannot depend on international forces for its security”.
