Washington - After spending $30m, publisher Steve Forbes dropped out of the Republican presidential race yesterday, insisting that for his money he had made "an enormous and positive contribution to the future of our country." He endorsed Bob Dole, who has virtually wrapped up the Republican nomination. Patrick Buchanan remains his sole opponent. AP
