A dramatic video has been released that shows the shocking moment a lorry in Spain lost control and flipped on its side while travelling down a motorway just outside of Madrid.

Spanish traffic police released the video of the the incident that took place on the M-45 motorway to the south of the capital on Friday morning.

The lorry flies towards the barrier, taking down two lampposts as it skids along the tarmac.

Miraculously, police report that the driver survived the incident and is currently in hospital receiving treatment.
