The film, which appears to have been fairly graphic, was playing at about 3am and is said to have remained on the screen for several minutes before an airport employee reported it.
One passenger videoed the incident and posted it to Youtube - while the film plays people waiting for their luggage can be heard laughing nervously in the background.
A spokesman for Lisbon airport, quoted by Yahoo News, said that the television had been tuned to a "Portuguese generalist channel", meaning a general entertainment channel rather than a channel dedicated to porn.
"The situation was corrected promptly. There were no complaints," he was quoted as saying.
He added that the incident had not been deliberate and would not occur again.
