A police investigation has been launched after a video emerged of two men allegedly raping a “groggy” woman on Snapchat.

The video, which was uploaded to social media sites in France on Sunday evening, has provoked outrage.

Two men suspected of being behind the attack were arrested in the town of Perpignan on near the border with Spain on Monday morning, The Local reports.

The victim was found at an apartment “in a state of shock”.

The video allegedly shows two men “humiliating” the young women before assaulting her.

She attempts to resist her attackers but appears to be either drunk or drugged.

Images also show two men buying alcohol at the local supermarket.

Their faces remained hidden the entire time.

Specialist police from Paris have been placed in charge of the investigation.

According to local French media one of the suspects - who were identified on Facebook - was allegedly already known to police.
