Abimael Guzman, the jailed leader of Shining Path, called on rebel comrades to seek a peace pact with the Peruvian government, AFP reports from Lima. In a videotape shown on television, he asked the 'party and its leadership to make a great new decision to struggle for a historic peace accord'.
