Hostages were freed after a police raid on the venue, in which three terrorists detonated suicide bomb vests and one other was shot.

Mr Cazenoves posted: "A thought for all the people who didn't have 'my luck' tonight. A big thank you to RAID and the BIS."

(RAID stands for Research, Assistance, Intervention, Defence, a special operations unit of the French National Police. He also thanks the Brigade de recherche et d'intervention, elite police special forces of the French Ministry of the Interior.)
