A model whose millionaire ex-boyfriend was shot dead in his Spanish holiday villa has been charged with his murder.

Mayka Kukucova, 25, is alleged to have killed British gold dealer Andy Bush, 48, after waiting for him in his house in Estepona, near Marbella.

It is alleged she shot Mr Bush, who had broken up with her six months earlier, when arrived with his new girlfriend, Maria Korotaeva.

After the shooting in April 2014, the swimwear model fled to her native Slovakia before being arrested four days later.

She denied murder and said Mr Bush had attempted to shoot her first but missed.

But a seven-page report by prosecutors alleged she had “an unmistakable desire to end Andrew Bush’s life”.

Prosecutor José Antonio Nieblas said: “The accused...at a certain point in a row they were having, made a sudden and unexpected use of the .38 special-model Amadeo Rossi revolver that she was carrying. She shot Andrew Bush three times, the first shot hitting in the arm and the other two in the head.

“Andrew Bush had no chance to react or to defend himself.”

He then alleged that Ms Kukucova placed the revolver in Mr Bush’s hand before stealing his car keys and leaving the scene, The Times reports.

The date for Ms Kukucova’s trial has not been set but she faces 25 years in prison if she is convicted.

Lawyers acting on behalf of Mr Bush’s family have said they wish to pursue a private prosecution simultaneously - which is permitted under Spanish law.

They claim Ms Kukucova intentionally inflicted extra suffering on her victim.
