A Russian man on trial for the murder of his sister was filmed attempting to escape from the courtroom through the ceiling.

Leonid Greyser, 18, was placed inside a glass-walled box during the trial and saw an opportunity to try making his getaway through a grill on top of the box.

In the video, published by Russian news channel LIFE, at least three police officers are seen present in the courtroom observing Greyser.

They can be seen rushing into action when he squeezes through the grill and starts pushing the ceiling panels into the crawl space above.

Two policemen climb up the sides of the box to grab the man and one of them hits him on the side with his baton.

The ceiling panels begin to crash down as the police manage to grab Greyser by the legs and he flails around inside the crawl space.

One of the policemen holds on to Greyser’s leg while the other jumps down from the box to get help, but Greyser manages to shimmy out of his trousers and frees a leg.

The officer manages to hold him down by one leg until help arrives, and another officer is seen using a Taser on Greyser to subdue him.

Greyser eventually agreed to come down and shimmied back through the grill into the box, according to the Moscow Times.

He pulled his trousers back up and was handcuffed to prevent any more escapes.

Greyser is accused of killing his sister while under the influence of synthetic drugs. Police say he claimed he was trying to “expel demons” from her.
