Aday after Italy's disgraced Christian Democrats relaunched themselves as the Popular Party, a breakaway group of centrists formed a new party, Reuter reports from Rome. Some 1,000 people, including the film director Franco Zeffirelli, attended the first assembly of the Christian Democrat Centre.
