Russian President Vladimir Putin was spotted yesterday descending into the briny depths below to inspect a sunken Russian sailing frigate.

Putin boarded an underwater vehicle with several other crew members and visited the remains of 'Eagle' which sank in 1869, off coast the St Petersburg.
