Denmark's first female Prime Minister, the Social Democrat Helle Thorning-Schmidt, has named a three-party coalition government full of novices.

Ms Thorning-Schmidt, 44, who is the daughter-in-law of the former Labour leader Lord Kinnock, includes the leftist Socialist People's Party and the more centrist Social Liberals in her coalition.

The line-up includes Bjarne Corydon, 38, a parliamentary newcomer with no financial experience – as Finance Minister. He will work with Denmark's youngest cabinet member, Thor Moger Pedersen, 26, of the Socialist People's Party, who is Tax Minister. REUTERS
