Armed man robs fast food restaurant in Vienna 'so he can start over in jail'
Unnamed man holds up restaurant with blank-firing gun and makes off with €85

A criminal who held up a fast food restaurant in Austria handed himself into police after admitting he “wanted a fresh start” in life.
The unnamed 33-year-old brandished a gun loaded with blanks at the restaurant on Ausstellungsstraße in the Leopoldstadt district of Vienna.
The man seized €85 from the cash till and fled.
He then gave himself up to police officers at a nearby station less than an hour later, claiming he had severe financial problems and was desperate for money.
The weapon and stolen goods were seized and the man arrested on armed robbery charges.
“He was very unhappy with his life situation,” police spokesman Christoph Pölzl told the Austrian newspaper ORF. “He said during the interrogation that he wanted to be locked up so he could have a fresh start.”
Police confirmed the man has been detained and is being held in jail in Vienna.
