A Chinese film star laughed and slapped a woman as a film producer raped her, a court has heard.

Yunxiang Gao and producer Jing Wang allegedly sexually assaulted the woman in the early hours of 27 March 2018, in a luxury hotel room in Sydney.

A jury at New South Wales District Court heard the woman entered the hotel room with Mr Wang after a party.

She had expected other people to be present in the hotel room.

The complainant said Mr Gao arrived shortly afterwards and the two men forcibly began removing her clothing, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

The unnamed woman told the court that she initially felt comforted when Mr Gao walked in.

“I felt a bit safer because he’s always very polite and is a public figure and he got married, he has a daughter and is someone I can trust,” she told the court on Wednesday.

The alleged victim began crying during her testimony.

She said Mr Wang told the actor: “I’ll leave her to you.”

Mr Gao then pulled her into the bathroom, pushed her on to the floor and forced her to perform a sex act on him, the court heard.

The men then forced her onto the bed where it is alleged Mr Wang raped the woman, while she repeatedly said “no”.

Sean Hughes, the crown prosecutor, told the jury that Mr Gao laughed as the woman was forced to perform a sex act on the producer.

The actor allegedly laughed and told the woman to “do it quickly”.

“He slapped on my bum a few times,” the complainant told the jury.

She said Mr Wang raped her again and that the actor left during the second assault.

The woman, who was working with the pair on a television series, said she pleaded with Jing Wang to stop.

“Please, please, I beg you, let me go home,” she said, according to her testimony.

Mr Gao and Mr Wang have both pleaded not guilty to multiple counts of aggravated sexual assault in company and indecent assault.

Jing Wang additionally faces two counts of sexual intercourse without consent and two counts of attempted sexual intercourse.

The woman said she told the police about the alleged indecent assault but not the rape because she was brought up in China.

She said in China “women don’t report this kind of thing to police, and because our famous people.....the wealthy, they will always have a way to get away from punishment, get away from [the] law.”

“I didn’t know what to do I didn’t want ot hurt my family, I didn’t want to hurt my parents,” she said.

The trial continues.
