A court has heard the desperate final pleas of a woman who died when she fell from a balcony while fleeing from her Tinder date.

Warriena Wright is heard shouting “let me go home” in a recording on Gable Tostee’s phone, moment before falling 14 floors.

Tostee, 30, is on trial in Australia accused of murder over her death after the pair met in person for the first time at the Surfers Paradise seaside resort on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

Jurors heard how the couple had a night of drinking alcohol and sex before the evening turned sour.

In the recording played to jurors, Ms Wright is heard threatening to “destroy (Tostee’s) jaw” and later Tostee brands her a “goddamn psycho”.

She is later heard to scream: “Let me go home.”

“I would, but you’ve been a bad girl,” he replied.

“You’re lucky I haven’t chucked you off my balcony. I should have never given you so much to drink.

“I’m gonna walk you out of this apartment just the way you are, you’re not going to collect any belongings.

“If you try to pull anything, I’ll knock you out."

Ms Wright, who was aged 26 at the time, appears to scream “no” repeatedly and say again “just let me go home” before falling and screaming.

The prosecutor claims Tostee intimidated Ms Wright so much that she felt she had no option but to escape his apartment by climbing down his balcony.

The lawyer claims Tostee choked and restrained her before locking her out of the apartment on his balcony, after she threw ornamental rocks at him and hit him with a telescope.

The trial also heard from neighbours who have described the moment she dangled over the balcony ledge and fell.

After the tragedy, Tostee called his father and said: “I didn’t cause this, I didn’t push her or anything.”

Ms Wright, from New Zealand, was on a short holiday at the time in Australia in August 2014.

If convicted of her murder, Tostee could face a life sentence.
