One of Pakistan's most notorious extremists taunted the US during a news conference yesterday, a day after the US put a $10m (£6.2m) bounty on him.

Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, 61, the founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba, operates openly in Pakistan.

"I am here, I am visible. America should give that reward money to me," he said, mocking Washington for placing a bounty on a man whose whereabouts are no mystery. "I will be in Lahore tomorrow. America can contact me whenever it wants."
