Mohammad Ali Baloch said the truck exploded Monday at a depot in Hyderabad city after gas pressure built up in a storage tank. Baloch is the top police official in Hyderabad.
Local TV footage showed hundreds of people crowding the blast site and searching through the rubble of destroyed shops looking for dead and wounded.
