An Azeri spokesman said Armenian forces had occupied 12 villages and attacked Kelbadzhar, near Nagorny Karabakh.
Fierce fighting flared in Georgia's breakaway region of Abkhazia yesterday, with five people killed and as many wounded, the Russian news agency Itar-Tass said. Tass said the fatalities occurred when military planes struck the regional centre, Sukhumi.
