Police say shots were fired at the store and at least two people were struck. They have not yet revealed their conditions.
A large police presence is on the scene at the Walmart and at a second location at East Sedgwick St and Forrest Ave.
A suspect to said to have been taken into custody a few streets from the Walmart.
The suspect is said to have been detained after crashing into a Philadelphia Police vehicle.
Police were called to the Cedarbrook Plaza Shopping Center at Easton Road shortly after 6pm local time.
